About Us

This website is a self-indulgent (not for profit) pet project by myself, Richard Delea, a Kildalkey resident since 1991. With the World Wide Web now a de facto information tool, I decided to delve into the “how it works” mode. Mainly because I’m a sad individual with nothing better to do.

Anyway, I started to teach myself how to compose web pages learning Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML), which is the language of web pages. There is a wealth of information on the Web on how to write HTML. Then when I thought I had a good grasp of HTML, I discovered that the Web had moved on to XHTML, CSS, XML, PHP, ASP and JavaScript and on and on and on.

The result of all this hard work is this attempt at a local village website to bring news and information not only to those who reside in Kildalkey, but also to those who have left for foreign shores. I hope you like the website, and please bear with me as I update/change items as I learn new presentation tricks. Comments, good bad or indifferent can be mailed to us. See our Contact Us page.
